Robert S. Schneider
Robert S. Schnieder is a partner
at Sadis & Goldberg LLP and a member of the Corporate
and Financial Services Group. Mr. Schneider oversees the
Registered Products Practice of the firm. He is experienced
in acquisitions, mergers and dispositions of industrial, financial
services and insurance companies.
He concentrates his practice
on the Investment Company Act of 1940, and represents a number
of registered investment companies, insurance company separate
accounts, private investment funds, investment advisers and
broker-dealers. He has served on the boards of directors
of three mutual funds and two broker-dealers; and also has
served on the boards of directors and finance committees of
two life insurance companies.
Prior to returning to private
practice in 1988, Mr. Schneider spent more than 17 years with
a major life insurance company, where he was responsible for
all of the company’s corporate and securities matters, including
matters pertaining to its investment adviser and broker-dealer
subsidiaries. After returning to private practice, he spent
nearly 14 years with several major law firms, and joined Sadis
& Goldberg in 2002 from one of the largest law firms in
the U.S.
Mr. Schneider has significant
experience in cross-border transactions, and has served as
U.S. counsel to several foreign companies and offshore
funds.
He has authored a number of articles,
and has been a speaker at various seminars, on the insurance
and financial services industries.
Mr. Schneider is admitted to
practice in New York. He is a member of the American, New
York State, and New York City Bar Associations, and the Association
of Life Insurance Counsel, where he previously served as Chairman
of the Company Products Committee, Securities Section. He
also is a Fellow of the American College of Investment Counsel.
He received his B.A. in 1963 from Brandeis University, and
earned his J.D. in 1966 from Stanford Law School, where he
was the recipient of an American Jurisprudence Award. |
